NAR home sale calculation

Video: NAR’s Upcoming EHS (Existing Homes Sales) Rebenchmarking
On Dec 21 NAR will release new existing-home sales (EHS) numbers based on a rebenchmarking of its baseline home-sale calculation.  NAR undertakes rebenchmarking roughly every 10 years to ensure the continued accuracy of its national EHS numbers. The rebenchmarking only affects national home sales data; it has no impact on MLS PIN home-sale data, or any other regional/local MLS.  In the video, NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun explains NAR’s process and rationale for its new calculation.  Access the video now.  Some blogs and social network outlets have classified the rebenchmarking as NAR’s attempt to correct mistakes.  Please share this with any agent(s), clients or customers who may ask about the accuracy of NAR reports.
